The parks and trails of the Queen Charlottes are some of the most remote and rugged wilderness park destinations in Canada. The trail system includes a good mix of easy, maintained trails and hard, long-haul muddy treks. Many of the parks include trails leading to sandy beaches, rivers, lakes and mountain peaks.

The network of trails and parks are divided into three regional areas - Graham Island, Moresby Island and Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve. Both Graham and Moresby Island parks and trailheads are accessed by vehicle while Gwaii Haanas is accessed by boat or floatplane only.

Graham Island has many parks and trails to select from. Most are located in around the main villages of Masset, Tlell, Port Clements, Skidegate and Queen Charlotte City. The northeast and eastern coastline of Graham Island falls within Naikoon Provincial Park. The Naikoon encompasses some beautiful view trails like the East Beach, Tow Hill and Cape Fife Trails.

The smaller island, Moresby, has some viewpoints of its own and trails to discover. The Sandspit Loop Drive will lead most to all the main trails and parks on this island. Some of the more popular park destinations are the Dover Trail and Onward Point Lookout.

The Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve is a sacred park rich in Haida culture and history. The park is the home to many ancient Haida villages and Totem Poles. So special is this place that land access is only permitted when accompanied by a Haida guide or with proper authorization by the Haida people. Please respect this.

The National Geographic Traveler Magazine rated the Gwaii Haanas as the #1 park destination in North America.
